Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the "British-Turkish Rail Forum," Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Jasurbek Choriev, held a meeting with Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Enver Iskurt.
During the meeting, Enver Iskurt provided a detailed overview of Türkiye’s completed and planned major projects in the field of transport infrastructure.
In response, Jasurbek Choriev shared updates on projects being implemented within the framework of bilateral cooperation, including progress on the construction of the Tashkent-Samarkand high-speed railway. This initiative represents a significant step forward in the development of Uzbekistan’s transport network.
The parties also discussed potential joint projects in the areas of transport logistics and infrastructure, emphasizing the prospects for future collaboration.
Following the meeting, Jasurbek Choriev visited the Port of Mersin, located on the Mediterranean coast, to explore its capabilities. Discussions focused on the efficient utilization of this port, which plays a pivotal role in enhancing Uzbekistan’s trade and economic ties with neighboring countries in the Near and Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
