Uzbekistan and Türkiye discuss future cooperation in the IT sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Uzbekistan, Olgan Bekar.

Minister Shermatov outlined the ministry’s key priorities, emphasizing the importance of transforming the IT sector into a primary driver of the nation’s economic development. He highlighted the need to boost IT exports and create high-income jobs for the youth.

During the meeting, information was shared about the benefits available to IT Park residents, and the high level of foreign language proficiency, including Turkish and English, among Uzbek IT professionals was underscored.

Ambassador Olgan Bekar, in turn, highlighted the main areas of cooperation between Türkiye and Uzbekistan in the IT sector. He expressed a strong interest in implementing promising joint projects with leading Turkish companies, emphasizing that both countries have substantial experience in IT development. The ambassador noted that combined efforts could yield even greater achievements.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue expanding cooperation and to successfully implement collaborative projects in the future.
