Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea to Strengthen Cooperation in Public Procurement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 June, a video conference was held between the Department of Public Procurement Policy under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Public Procurement Service of the Republic of Korea.
The meeting focused on implementing the agreements reached during the visit of the Korean Public Procurement Service delegation to Uzbekistan in April of this year.
The two sides exchanged views on several key areas, including the improvement of public procurement management and oversight systems, the introduction of monitoring mechanisms, anti-corruption strategies and preventive measures, effective implementation of centralized procurement systems, automation of procurement processes through artificial intelligence, promotion of green procurement practices, support for local producers, and the development of contract management tools.
They also discussed the potential of e-procurement platforms, ways to enhance their efficiency, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches.
As a result of the discussions, both parties agreed on the need to establish a joint expert working group tasked with developing a roadmap for further cooperation.
This document is expected to serve as a strategic guide in defining a long-term format for collaboration between the two countries.
The sides also agreed to intensify online consultations and maintain regular dialogue to ensure sustainable engagement.
