Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, met with Nico Schemers, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for developing relations between Uzbekistan and the Netherlands concerning Afghanistan.
Ambassador Schemers emphasized Uzbekistan’s significant role in establishing sustainable peace in Afghanistan and praised Tashkent’s efforts in restoring the country’s socio-economic infrastructure.
Additionally, a meeting was held with Professor Nazif Shaharani from Indiana University (USA).
The participants exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and ways to establish stability in the country.
Professor Shaharani noted that Afghans living abroad highly appreciate Uzbekistan’s active participation in providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and its overall efforts to establish stability in Afghanistan.
These meetings underscore the importance of collaborative efforts between Uzbekistan and the international community, including the Netherlands, to address the complex situation in Afghanistan. Uzbekistan continues to actively participate in humanitarian missions, assist in infrastructure restoration, and strive for a peaceful and stable environment in Afghanistan.
