Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 April, a scientific and practical conference was held in Samarkand on the Netherlands Fruit Solutions Uzbekistan project, organized by the Department of Agricultural Technology Transfer together with Dutch companies.

The event brought together representatives of farms, both local and foreign businessmen, agricultural specialists, teachers and students.

During the conference, Fleuren from the Netherlands presented a presentation on growing berry seedlings and held negotiations with farms in Uzbekistan in order to establish cooperation. This company annually exports more than 2.6 million berry seedlings to more than 30 countries.

Alfred Evers, Advisor for Water and Food Security of the Netherlands, emphasized that Dutch agriculture is deservedly recognized in the world, and that the yield from 1 hectare of berry orchards reaches up to 50 tons, which is 4 times higher than the yield in Uzbekistan.

As a result of the conference, an agreement was reached to send farmers from Uzbekistan to the Netherlands to study innovative agricultural methods, become familiar with advanced technologies used in this area, as well as acquire knowledge and skills.
