Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 April, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks with Zsuzsanna Hargitai, Managing Director for Central Asia of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The parties discussed the current progress in the implementation of investment projects with the participation of the EBRD and prospects for further cooperation.

Organizational aspects were agreed upon in the preparation and holding, jointly with the EBRD, of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum in early May of this year.

The EBRD’s portfolio currently includes 16 completed projects totaling €391.3 million, covering the areas of water supply and wastewater treatment, energy, district heating, transport, support for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as 15 ongoing projects totaling €3 billion.

There are 8 projects in the development stage totaling €815 million, covering water supply, education, energy, road reconstruction, transport and solid waste management.
