Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic sign agreements worth 800 million euros

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As a result of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to the Czech Republic, investment and trade agreements worth more than 800 million euros were signed, the government website says.

As specified, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel held a meeting with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

The parties discussed prospects for the development of cooperation between trade and economic, energy, transport, tourism, agricultural, cultural, humanitarian, higher education and research institutions.

There was also a bilateral meeting and negotiations with representatives of Škoda, Omnipol, Crystal Bohemia, Primako and other leading firms and companies.

It is worth noting that during the visit, the Uzbekistan Temir Yollari company and the Czech Škoda Group signed a contract for the supply of 30 electric trains for 320 million euros.

Four-car trains for broad-gauge roads will begin production next year. The main parts will be assembled at the Ostrava plant; part of the assembly of the cars will remain with Uzbekistan.

The carriages will be partially low-floor, they will have Wi-Fi and indoor and outdoor video surveillance systems.

The project is financed by Czech banks with the support of the Czech export insurance company EGAP.
