Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During her working visit to Saint Petersburg, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held talks with the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rustam Emomali.

The head of the Uzbek Senate congratulated Rustam Emomali on his election as the leader of the Tajik parliament and noted the dynamic development of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries. She expressed confidence in the further strengthening of cooperation at the legislative level.

During the meeting, the sides discussed key aspects of the Uzbek-Tajik strategic partnership, emphasizing that it is based on solid agreements between the heads of state and mutual trust.

Special attention was given to plans for intensifying inter-parliamentary ties in connection with the formation of new compositions of legislative bodies. The participants of the talks agreed to hold the next meeting of the "Uzbekistan – Tajikistan" friendship group, where issues related to parliamentary support for the implementation of previously reached agreements will be discussed.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to deepen comprehensive cooperation, fostering closer ties between the two countries.
