Uzbekistan and South Korea sign documents for US$2.7bn in banking and finance
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and South Korea signed a number of documents in the banking and financial sector worth more than US$2.7 billion.

The documents were signed during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea.

In particular, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and Korea Eximbank signed an agreement on financing of investment projects. Within the framework of the document, the Korean side will provide Uzbekistan with loans worth US$2 billion.

The Governments of Uzbekistan and South Korea inked an agreement on provision of loans under the EDCF Fund for the amount of US$500 million.

The National Bank for Foreign Economic Activty of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Korea Eximbank signed a loan agreement on financing investment projects and trade transactions involving Korean suppliers and contractors for US$150 million.

The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the State Committee for Investment of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding on implementation of the cooperation program for 2018-2019. KOICA will provide technical assistance worth US$32.2 million within the document.

UzbekLeasing International concluded four agreements with South Korean companies: GST Korea, Road International Co. Ltd, KCP and KwangShin. The total amount of agreements is US$50 million. Within the framework of the documents, special machinery and equipment will be delivered from South Korea to Uzbekistan.
