Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 May, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva received a delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore Sia Kian Peng.

At the beginning of the conversation, the guests especially noted that thanks to the visits of the leaders of the two countries, friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore had reached a new level.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between parliaments, as well as in the field of science and education, trade and economic cooperation, public administration and training of highly qualified personnel, as well as practical cooperation in the fight against corruption were discussed.

It was emphasized that active inter-parliamentary cooperation is one of the most important mechanisms for developing relations between our countries at all levels.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish practical cooperation between parliamentary committees and to expand the activities of “friendship groups”.
