Uzbekistan and Serbia Discuss Expansion of Trade and Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Belgrade, negotiations took place between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shakhavdinov, and the State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade, Nikola Stojanović. The meeting was reported by the Dunyo Information Agency.
The parties exchanged views on boosting trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the need to fully leverage the untapped potential of their partnership.
Special attention was given to launching and effectively operating bilateral cooperation mechanisms, particularly the Uzbek-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission. They also discussed the development of a legal framework that would support deeper collaboration in priority sectors.
Additionally, the talks explored opportunities for cooperation in the field of labor migration. In this context, both sides considered simplifying visa procedures and the possibility of signing relevant intergovernmental agreements.
