Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia strengthen cooperation in localization and public procurement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 April, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by Deputy Minister of Energy Fuad Musa and Vice President of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority Mohammed Al-Qahtani.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the development of industrial production, value chain expansion, enhanced industrial cooperation, increased localization in investment projects, and the modernization of key industrial sectors.
An agreement was reached to introduce a local content system in Uzbekistan, drawing on Saudi Arabia’s successful experience in this area.
To this end, working groups have been formed with the participation of relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan. These groups have been tasked with conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and developing strategies for further collaboration.
