Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the head of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Homidi, held a meeting to discuss establishing cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
The discussions focused on studying the Authority’s experience in national policies related to data storage and management, offering recommendations to Uzbekistan on data exchange and open data policies, and aligning data governance systems with international standards.
Other key topics included AI ethics, security policies, the development of cloud services and "smart cities," the implementation of joint projects, and the creation of joint educational programs to train qualified specialists in the field. The organization of annual events aimed at advancing artificial intelligence was also discussed.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, established in 2019, is responsible for the development and management of data and AI in the country, as well as implementing the national strategy through 2030.
