Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Russia continue to work on improving the organization of migration flows. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov in an interview with the newspaper “Izvestia”.
According to the diplomat, the issue of migration has recently become more pressing. However, he emphasized that attention should not be focused solely on the negative aspects, as both Moscow and Tashkent are committed to making migration processes more orderly and structured.
Malginov highlighted that migration is a natural process driven by both economic factors and traditional ties between countries. He pointed out the importance of ensuring that citizens of Uzbekistan and other countries coming to work in Russia are aware of the enterprises they are assigned to and their roles, possessing the necessary professional skills.
The ambassador also stressed the need for the younger generation of migrants to be better prepared for life and work in Russia. Despite the close cultural and historical ties between the two countries, it is important for young people coming to Russia to have proficiency in Russian and a good understanding of the country’s laws, which will help them integrate more easily and work effectively.
Malginov also noted that the Russian language remains in demand in Uzbekistan. He mentioned that the interest in learning Russian is so high that classes and schools teaching in Russian cannot fully meet the demand. As a result, efforts are being made to train a new generation of Russian language teachers who can teach subjects in Russian.
