Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia will today sign an agreement on the construction of small nuclear power plants. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during negotiations with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
“Today we will sign an important agreement on the implementation of projects for the construction of small nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan,” Mirziyoyev said.
The head of Uzbekistan noted that the parties have long been discussing the conditions for the construction of nuclear power plants and technical aspects at the expert level.
“There is mutual understanding and willingness to accelerate the implementation of this strategic project,” he added.
Small nuclear power plants can include up to six power units with a capacity of 55 MW each.
