Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to create a joint investment platform.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted during a meeting of the Council of Regions that Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation intend to jointly develop tools for supporting and financing regional projects. 

He stressed that the leaders of the two countries discussed this issue during the negotiations. 

“A joint investment platform with an initial capital of US$500 million will begin operations in the near future,” - he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the Russian side will contribute US$400 million to this platform.

“The Russian side is ready to contribute its share, and our share is US$400 million. Funds have been allocated and prepared. Now only technical details remain,” he said. 

“This will be finalized in the coming days. These are funds that will be directed to various areas of the real sector of the Republic’s economy,” Putin noted.
