Uzbekistan and Russia expand cooperation in high technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  As part of the deepening strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia in high technologies, a unique event, the "Quantum Week in Uzbekistan," was held at the Almalyk branch of the National Research Technological University "MISIS."

This important scientific and educational event aimed at popularizing quantum technologies among schoolchildren, students, and representatives of the scientific community. It was attended by international experts, including the General Director of the Russian Quantum Center M. Ostrasy, as well as representatives of Rosatom, G. Palychikov and D. Sokol.

The "Quantum Weeks" initiative by Rosatom is an ecosystem project designed to increase the involvement of educational institutions, regional authorities, as well as business structures and development institutions in the development of quantum technologies.

The "Quantum Week" program at the National Research Technological University MISIS was rich in content, featuring lectures, workshops, and practical sessions that attracted both students and specialists in physics, engineering, and technology. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum cryptography, as well as discuss their application in industry and scientific research.

Special attention was given to the cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in high technologies and the role of scientific and educational institutions in the development of quantum research. During the event, lectures were held on the importance of quantum technologies for global science and education.

A special program was organized for the schoolchildren of Almalyk, where they were introduced to the basics of quantum physics using simple and accessible examples. One of the key moments of the event was an open dialogue between the schoolchildren and scientists, which inspired the younger generation to pursue careers in science and technology fields.

The Quantum Week not only introduced participants to the fundamentals of quantum technologies but also contributed to the development of science and education in Uzbekistan. This event became an important contribution to strengthening scientific ties between Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as expanding international cooperation in high technologies.

It is worth noting that this project was launched in 2024, and the first international event by Rosatom was held in Uzbekistan.
