Uzbekistan and Russia discuss regional cooperation development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives from Uzbekistan held discussions with leaders of Russian regions to explore cooperation in industry and education at the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev met with the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, to form a pool of joint projects under international cooperation. One of the key projects discussed was the construction of a joint technopark in the Tashkent region.

Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, had a meeting with the governor of the Tomsk region, Vladimir Mazur. They discussed plans to develop and sign "road maps" with major enterprises of Uzbekistan for scientific and technological cooperation, as well as expanding interaction with the Andijan and Kashkadarya regions.

Asadov also discussed with the governor of the Arkhangelsk region, Alexander Tsybulsky, the outcomes of the Pomorye delegation’s visits to Uzbekistan and the prospective directions for further cooperation.

Currently, agreements on cooperation with the Navoi and Tashkent regions are being developed by the regions.
