Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 July, as part of a visit to the Russian Federation, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov participated in the first meeting of the Working Group on increasing trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia, and also visited the Russian Foreign Trade Academy.
The meeting of the Working Group, attended by heads of relevant ministries, departments, and industry associations, addressed a wide range of issues related to expanding trade relations between the two countries.
In his speech, Laziz Kudratov highlighted the exemplary nature of Uzbek-Russian relations achieved through strong political will and trust between the leaders of the two states.
He emphasized the positive dynamics of stable growth in trade volumes — by 2.5 times over the past 7 years and by 30% since the beginning of this year. This growth is occurring within the framework of comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia. It was noted that the structure of goods has significantly expanded, with an increased share of high value-added products.
It was highlighted that both countries have all necessary opportunities to achieve the target set by the heads of the two states — mutual trade volume of US$30 billion by 2030.
The implementation of a joint action plan to increase mutual trade volumes between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation for 2024-2030 years is of great importance for achieving this goal.
During the meeting, the parties thoroughly discussed the current state and developed joint measures for the accelerated implementation of the document.
On the same day, as part of the business program of the visit, Laziz Kudratov visited the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (VAFT), where Rector Vittoria Idrisova presented the conditions for high-quality education of students.
Details of cooperation between Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and VAFT on opening a branch of the Academy in Tashkent, as well as the implementation of programs for training and qualification improvement of specialists in the field of foreign economic activity, were discussed.
The visit of the Uzbekistan delegation to the Russian Federation continues.
