Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 28 November 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev met with Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov to discuss issues related to regulating external labor migration and protecting the rights of Uzbek citizens in Russia.

The parties exchanged views and agreed on joint measures for organized recruitment of Uzbek nationals to work at Russian enterprises. Russia confirmed its interest in this initiative.

An agreement was reached to hold weekly meetings between representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, and the Russian Embassy to discuss migration flows.
