Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Agency for Strategic Reforms with representatives of the Expert Council of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology of Russia.

The meeting was attended by ASR Director Bakhodir Rakhmatov, Deputy Chairman of the ASI Expert Council for Promoting New Projects Alexey Sitnikov and Director of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Endowment Fund Andrey Shket, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Center for Economic Research and reforms under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the Russian initiative “Point of Attraction” was discussed, which envisages the creation of centers for the development of advanced knowledge and competencies abroad to train engineering personnel with a high level of competence.

It is expected that these programs will include both theoretical training and practical training based on modern technology laboratories and equipment, and the demonstration and implementation of advanced technologies, training of researchers and specialists is proposed to be carried out through the platform.

These discussions allowed the meeting participants to more deeply understand the potential of the Point of Attraction project and develop specific steps for its implementation, in connection with which a joint working group was created.

It is expected that the implementation of this project will become an important tool for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of science, education and technology.
