Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia are actively working on mutual recognition of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certificates for medicines. This was stated by the press secretary of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan Sevara Tulyaganova.

According to her, the parties are working to recognize GMP certificates provided by the competent authorities of the two countries.

She noted that a roadmap had been approved between the Agency of Uzbekistan and the Department for Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of Russia, aimed at facilitating the process of registration of medicines from Uzbek manufacturers in Russia.

The document envisages joint inspections at pharmaceutical enterprises in both countries to assess compliance with GMP requirements. Last year, such checks were carried out at the Uzbek enterprise RADIX and the Russian enterprise Geropharm, which specializes in the production of insulin preparations.

Remote audits of the quality systems of pharmaceutical inspectorates of both countries were also organized.

The GMP system ensures constant control of pharmaceutical products in accordance with quality standards, which allows minimizing the risks associated with the production of medicines.
