Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan and Qatar have reached an agreement to collaborate in the restoration of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage sites.

Yesterday, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, met with Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to discuss the restoration project of the famous Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand.

Following the meeting, the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan signed bilateral cooperation agreements with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the Qatar Development Fund.

The goal of this collaboration is to join efforts in preserving and restoring Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage, which holds global significance.
