Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 October, a roundtable was held in Tashkent between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari. The event marked a significant step in strengthening Uzbekistan-Qatar economic relations.
The Uzbek side highlighted the positive dynamics of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries. Several large Qatari companies have successfully implemented investment projects in Uzbekistan in sectors such as energy, road infrastructure, logistics, and tourism.
At the same time, it was emphasized that there is significant untapped potential for expanding the number and scale of joint projects in priority sectors of the economy. These sectors include agriculture, the food and textile industries, mining and metallurgy, energy and petrochemicals, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics, as well as the large-scale privatization program. Uzbekistan expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support at every stage of new initiatives.
The Qatari side commended Uzbekistan’s efforts to create favorable conditions for investors and reaffirmed its willingness to actively collaborate on all discussed projects.
As a result of the roundtable, bilateral documents were signed, including agreements for the opening of a Qatar Dynasty Jet office in Uzbekistan and contracts for the export of agricultural and food products between Qatari companies Al Mai Trading, High Com Global Trading, and Uzbek companies Millmax Trading and Turan as.
