Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 September 2024, Tashkent hosted the third round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of the Philippines.

The delegations were led by Ikrom Khaydarov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Teresa P. Lazaro, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.

During the consultations, a detailed review of the current state and prospects of bilateral relations was conducted, covering political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation within multilateral formats.

Special attention was given to the potential for cooperation in trade-economic, investment, and tourism areas. Both sides expressed interest in expanding the legal framework in these areas. In particular, the Philippine side showed interest in importing chemical fertilizers and small agricultural machinery from Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed current international and regional issues.
