Uzbekistan and Pakistan to strengthen ICT cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Usmanov met with Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja, according to Dunyo news agency.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the fields of information technology and telecommunications.

The Pakistani side was provided with information about recent reforms in Uzbekistan, additional opportunities for the public and entrepreneurs, the implementation of e-government, and the activities of IT parks.

Particular attention was given to the rapid development of the service market in Uzbekistan and the application of high-tech and innovative solutions in areas such as healthcare, energy, transportation, education, construction, banking, taxation, customs, agriculture, and water resource management.

The Pakistani side highly praised Uzbekistan’s achievements in information technology, digitalization of government services, and the use of artificial intelligence. They expressed interest in establishing cooperation in these areas.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to explore prospective and mutually beneficial cooperation areas, create a joint working group, and develop a corresponding "roadmap."
