Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Amna Baloch. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, including the schedule of upcoming events.
Amna Baloch emphasized that Pakistan views Uzbekistan as a strategic partner in Central Asia and a key participant in regional connectivity projects. She highlighted the effectiveness of cooperation between Pakistani ministries and agencies and their Uzbek counterparts.
The parties noted the dynamic development of economic diplomacy, the growth of trade turnover, and the expansion of its range of goods. Joint business forums were highly praised as platforms for developing new projects and elevating trade and economic relations to a new level.
The similarity of the countries’ positions on international and regional security issues and integration was also noted. There was confidence that mutual support for initiatives on multilateral platforms would contribute to the well-being of the people of both nations.
Special attention was given to the Trans-Afghan railway project, which is expected to open new opportunities for bilateral relations. The opening of a Tashkent-Lahore flight was also discussed, along with the prospects for expanding air travel to other cities to strengthen ties and promote trade and economic cooperation.
In addition, issues related to deepening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, organizing joint events, and increasing tourist flows were considered.
