Uzbekistan and Oman discuss establishing a joint agricultural processing venture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Muscat with Salem Nasser Al-Bartmani, CEO of the Omani company Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives SAOC, to discuss the potential creation of a joint agricultural processing venture in Uzbekistan, according to the Dunyo news agency.

The discussions focused on a project to produce ketchup in Samarkand region. The Omani company expressed its readiness to invest in the initiative and supply tomato paste for production.

Both sides agreed to organize an online meeting involving Uzbek entrepreneurs in the near future, followed by a visit from Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives SAOC representatives to Uzbekistan for further negotiations and project implementation.

Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives SAOC specializes in the production of vegetable oils, margarine, fats, butter, as well as ketchup and mayonnaise. This makes the company an attractive partner for developing Uzbekistan’s food industry. Establishing the joint venture will be a significant step towards enhancing the country’s agricultural processing capacity and attracting foreign investment.
