Uzbekistan and Malaysia to film and show the 10-episode movie about Uzbekistan in the holy month of Ramadan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 January 2020, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, the Director General of the Uzbekkino National Agency met with the leadership of the State Television and Radio Company of Malaysia (Radio Televisyen Malaysia - RTM).

The parties discussed a large-scale project on the joint creation of a 10-serial documentary film about Uzbekistan with its subsequent demonstration on the leading television channels of Malaysia, TV1 and TV2. Filming of this project is scheduled for February-March this year in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. The documentary series will be broadcast in prime time in May 2020, during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“Our joint project will introduce Malaysian viewers with the history, traditions, culture of our people and, of course, with the historical changes that have occurred in our country over the past three years,” said the director general of Uzbekkino F. Abdukhalikov. - An important task is to show with examples of the lifestyle of the population of our country, as well as vivid historical facts, that Islam is a religion of peace, kindness and tolerance. That is why in our cooperation we focus on the contribution of great theologians, thinkers and scientists - Imam Al-Bukhari, Al-Termizi, Al-Khwarizmi, Mirzo Ulugbek and our other great ancestors in the development of world civilization,” the head of “Uzbekkino” said.

The meeting participants also discussed the mechanisms and organizational aspects of the implementation of other joint Uzbek-Malaysian projects. Thus, the Malaysian media company Aquiula Emas, with the support of RTM, plans to film a tourism program for Central Asian countries called GLOB, where 5 episodes will be devoted to Uzbekistan. The film will also be shot in conjunction with the national agency Uzbekkino and will be broadcast on Prime TV's Malaysian state channel TV2.

“Together with the leadership of “Uzbekkino”and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, we today also discussed in detail the joint creation of a television series about the great thinker and theologian Imam Al Bukhari,” says Syarizan Isa, director general of the Aquiula Emas film company. “Uzbekistan has opened up to the world, and we have inspired ideas to tell our compatriots everything about New Uzbekistan, about the important role of this region on the Great Silk Road and the formation of Islamic civilization,” he emphasized.

“RTM” is the largest public television and radio company in Malaysia, consisting of 36 radio and 3 television channels. The audience of channels averages about 25 million people.

It should be noted that with the support of the Uzbekkino national agency, at the end of last year, an international project was already launched to create six documentaries about the new Uzbekistan, shot by renowned American journalist Rain Chilkot and the British company I-Motus, which were shown at the end of December time on the air of the leading American television channel CNBC.
