Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the official visit to Malaysia by a delegation from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister J. Kazbekov, a series of key meetings took place with representatives of Malaysian government organizations and companies.
The primary goal of the visit was to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of environmental protection and climate change mitigation.
A notable meeting took place with Datuk Nor Yahati Binti Awang, Deputy Secretary-General for Sustainable Development of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change of Malaysia. During the negotiations, both parties emphasized the high level of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached for close cooperation between the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation and the National Climate Change Center of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Uzbekistan. This collaboration will serve as a foundation for exchanging advanced technologies and joint work on environmental projects. The prospects of digitizing environmental monitoring of forest areas were also discussed.
As a result of the meetings, it was decided to develop and sign a joint Memorandum of Understanding. This document will be an important step toward implementing joint initiatives in sustainable development, ecosystem restoration, and the use of nature-based solutions.
