Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan held a meeting with the leadership and representatives of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, during which the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration.
The negotiations concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation aimed at creating additional opportunities for the organized employment of Uzbek citizens in Lithuania.
The Lithuanian side emphasized the high qualifications and diligence of Uzbek specialists, which contribute to the sustained demand for workers in certain professions, particularly truck drivers and auto mechanics.
In this regard, a decision was made to establish specialized training centers in Uzbekistan, where personnel will be trained in these fields.
The implementation of this initiative will involve active participation from Lithuanian companies GIRTEKA and TVG Groupe, both members of the Confederation of Industrialists.
In the initial phase, 200 Uzbek citizens will undergo training, and upon completion of the courses, they will have the opportunity for employment in Lithuania.
GIRTEKA, with a fleet of 4,000 trucks, and TVG Groupe, with 800 trucks, plan to integrate the trained specialists into their operations, ensuring employment in available positions.
