Uzbekistan and Latvia plan to launch the first cargo flight

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Latvia plan to launch the first cargo flight between the countries at the end of June or early July 2024. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.

A delegation from Fly Khiva airlines, led by General Director Dilshod Khojaev, is visiting Latvia as part of increasing export volumes to the European Union.

The delegation held meetings in the relevant ministries and departments, as well as with the leadership of the department for international air cargo transportation at Riga Airport, during which the Latvian side expressed interest in establishing cargo connections between the countries.

The parties began jointly exploring the issue of establishing international cargo air transportation on the Uzbekistan-Latvia route with expansion to other major Baltic cities.

The new air corridor will be actively used for the export of fruits and vegetables, textiles and other products from Uzbekistan to Latvia and other EU countries.
