Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to launch joint production of 12 car models from 2024. This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev at a press conference at the Kabar agency, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee said.

He noted that the Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant, which is a joint project with UzAvtoSanoat, is currently preparing for commissioning.

The plant is expected to begin operations next year, having completed construction and commissioning work.

The project is financed by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. An agreement on cooperation on organizing the production of cars and commercial equipment in Kyrgyzstan was signed in January during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan.

The project will be implemented in three stages with a total production plan of 30 thousand cars and commercial vehicles.
