Uzbekistan and KOICA to implement projects worth US$300 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 September, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, met with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Chang Won Sam.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of multifaceted cooperation with South Korea, one of Uzbekistan's key foreign policy and economic partners.

KOICA’s significant contributions to the development of education, public administration, healthcare, and digitalization in Uzbekistan were highlighted. Over 40 projects and programs totaling more than US$250 million have been implemented through KOICA’s support.

The parties agreed on specific steps to deepen collaboration further, including joint events across the regions of Uzbekistan, implementation of infrastructure and socially significant projects, and the provision of advisory and technical assistance to enhance export and investment management mechanisms in the country.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, outlining 29 prospective projects worth US$300 million. These projects will focus on digitalizing public administration, combating climate change, and advancing the education system.
