Uzbekistan and KIDL Deepen Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture held talks with a delegation from the Korean company KIDL, during which the parties reviewed the status and development prospects of key strategic partnership projects.

Particular attention was given to the creation and equipping of modern greenhouse complexes, the construction of laboratories and cold storage facilities, as well as the establishment of training centers based on advanced technologies.

The discussions specifically highlighted progress in greenhouse construction projects in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, which include the implementation of cooling systems and agricultural storage infrastructure. These facilities are expected to play a significant role in the development of modern agro-infrastructure in these regions.

In addition, the participants noted the completion of construction and full equipping of a training center for the transfer of advanced expertise in fruit and vegetable production. The facility is now outfitted with all necessary laboratories and educational spaces.

Future plans include the creation of an innovative "smart" agricultural center for testing and adapting modern agrotechnologies to local conditions. This center is expected to serve as the base for pilot farms across several regions, allowing for new solutions to be refined before their large-scale implementation.

The sides also discussed the cultivation of seed potatoes in in-vitro laboratories and the commissioning of additional specialized greenhouses. These initiatives aim to strengthen national food security and enhance the export potential of Uzbekistan’s agricultural products.

A key point of the dialogue was the expansion of cooperation in adjacent fields such as food production with an eye toward international markets, the improvement of agro-logistics infrastructure, and the modernization of greenhouse facilities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the consistent implementation of ongoing projects, agreed to boost their effectiveness, and outlined specific steps to expand their partnership in new directions.
