Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan launch new navigation corridor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have jointly launched a new navigation corridor, the Ministry of Transport’s press service said in a statement.

Starting from 11 July, new segments of the zone navigation route T-916 for aircraft were officially announced and put into operation.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the first user of the new corridor was the German airline Lufthansa.

This new route reduces the flight path length by up to 40 km and enables airlines to save between 30 to 50 tons of aviation fuel annually on daily flights.

Moreover, oxygen consumption is reduced by 50-70 tons, and emissions of harmful carbon dioxide gases into the atmosphere are decreased by 220-250 tons.

It is projected that more than 30 airlines per day will operate flights on this newly optimized route.

To ensure the successful implementation of the new air route segments, specialists from the State Unitary Enterprise Uzaeronavigation and Kazaeronavigation Center have already begun negotiations to enhance the structural elements of neighboring air routes and reduce the workload on air traffic controllers.

Additionally, Uzaeronavigation continues its efforts to introduce new air traffic organization routes with providers from neighboring countries.
