Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agree to expand industrial cooperation and develop a new cooperation program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 April, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction, Ersayyn Nagaspaev.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation. It was noted that over the past five years, mutual trade volume has increased by 30%. In the first quarter of this year alone, trade turnover exceeded US$1 billion, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.

Currently, there are more than 1,000 enterprises with Kazakh capital operating in Uzbekistan, while about 4,500 companies with Uzbek participation are working in Kazakhstan.

As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached to work on a new package of agreements focusing on key areas of cooperation, including industry, geological exploration, and transportation. Additionally, the parties agreed to accelerate the development of a joint industrial cooperation program.
