Uzbekistan and JETRO discuss joint projects to enhance labor productivity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 February, a meeting took place in Tashkent between the Director of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Uzbekistan, Ichinoze Sano, and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Umid Abidkhadjaev, who headed the ministry’s delegation.

JETRO is a government agency that promotes trade and investment ties between Japan and other countries. It supports Japanese companies entering international markets and helps attract foreign investments into Japan. The organization works in several areas, including investment attraction, development of exports of Japanese goods, promotion of innovative technologies, and conducting research and providing analytical services.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to enhancing labor productivity in Uzbekistan's economy and creating effective institutional solutions based on international experience. Special attention was given to the development of human capital and expanding professional training programs. The active implementation of Japanese experience and technologies was also discussed, as well as the organization of joint training and research initiatives to boost labor productivity.

Another important point in the discussions was collaboration with the Japan Productivity Center (JPC) to implement joint projects aimed at improving labor productivity indicators.

The topics of green economy development, as a key area, and deepening exchanges on sustainable growth and supporting environmentally friendly development were also covered during the talks.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their intention to continue and deepen cooperation in these and other areas.
