Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 October 2024, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Foreign Minister Ilkhom Khaydarov and Masaki Ishikawa, Deputy Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau and Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues concerning Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership, which has shown a stable positive dynamic in recent years.
"Uzbekistan and Japan are successfully developing mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas," noted Ilkhom Khaydarov. "We discussed new opportunities for expanding our collaboration in trade, investment, culture, education, and tourism."
The importance of comprehensively implementing previously reached agreements was emphasized, along with the continuation of consultations between the foreign policy agencies of both countries and effectively utilizing established mechanisms for interaction in trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
"We are confident that strengthening our strategic partnership will contribute to the further development and prosperity of both Uzbekistan and Japan," emphasized Masaki Ishikawa.
The parties exchanged views on expanding contacts in training and retraining personnel and discussed the schedule of upcoming events, including a business forum in Tashkent next year.
