Uzbekistan and Israel strengthen cooperation in the field of labor migration

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tel Aviv, an online meeting was held between representatives of the External Labor Migration Agency under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan and the Israel Manufacturers Association.

The Association of Israel Manufacturers (API), founded in 1921, unites more than 2 thousand different industry organizations and enterprises (90% of the state’s industry and 80% of the workforce employed in industry), reports Dunyo news agency.

During the meeting, the Israeli side was informed about an agreement on cooperation in the field of labor migration, signed in 2022 between the governments of Uzbekistan and Israel, including a protocol on employment in the field of care for the elderly.

Representatives of the association reported on the growing needs of the Israeli labor market, in particular in hiring qualified labor for the country’s enterprises.

Information was provided on the stages of organizing the employment process, hiring criteria and other issues of establishing interaction in this direction.

According to the Israeli side, currently about 450 thousand people are employed at enterprises within the Association of Manufacturers, of which about 3 thousand are foreign specialists.

Agency specialists informed about the accumulated experience of Uzbekistan’s work with foreign countries, in particular with a number of EU countries, the Asia-Pacific region and the Persian Gulf on the procedure for employing citizens at industrial enterprises.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to work out the necessary set of preparatory issues in consultation with authorized government organizations in Israel.
