Uzbekistan and Israel discuss prospects for agricultural cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ikrom Abdurakhmanov, met with the Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan, Lior Lustig, and the coordinator of the MASHAV program, Yulia Olkhovskaya.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector and strengthening collaboration within the MASHAV program.
The head of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture presented the current reforms in the country's agriculture sector and outlined key areas for potential partnership.
Special attention was given to Israel's experience in implementing advanced technologies in conditions of limited water resources and challenging climate conditions.
Ambassador Lustig shared the achievements of Israel in the rational use of natural resources, the development of agricultural entrepreneurship, and improving the living conditions of rural populations, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan in these areas.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to introduce innovative solutions in agriculture, collaborate on climate change adaptation initiatives, strengthen cooperation between agricultural universities in both countries, and organize training seminars for Uzbek specialists within the MASHAV program.
