Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Aloyev held a meeting with Berik Arin, the Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), according to the Dunyo News Agency.

During the meeting, the IOFS Director-General praised the organization and execution of the International Forum on "Food Security and Sustainable Development Goals for Landlocked Developing Countries" held in Tashkent.

He highlighted that the forum became a crucial platform for discussing pressing issues related to food security and sustainable development, bringing together experts and representatives from various nations.

The two parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IOFS, as well as the potential implementation of joint projects in the area of food security. The key areas of focus included:

- Strengthening Food Security: The discussion centered on potential initiatives to enhance the resilience of agricultural production, optimize the use of water resources, improve infrastructure, and introduce modern technologies into the agricultural sector.

- Improving Access to Food: Both sides explored options for collaboration to ensure food accessibility, particularly for vulnerable populations. This includes developing assistance and support programs.

- Agricultural Sector Development: Uzbekistan and IOFS expressed interest in strengthening cooperation in training specialists, sharing expertise, and introducing advanced technologies to increase productivity and improve the quality of agricultural products.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the mutual interest of Uzbekistan and the IOFS in developing a strategic partnership in the field of food security.
