Uzbekistan and Iran discuss priority areas for mutual cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his visit to Armenia, Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov held a bilateral meeting with First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref.

The meeting highlighted that the leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran are making significant efforts to strengthen multilateral cooperation.

As a result, mutual trade exceeded half a billion dollars over the past year, and the number of joint ventures has increased by 51 since the beginning of the year.

The meeting also addressed preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the accompanying business forum, as well as issues related to the implementation of industrial cooperation projects in various fields between our countries.

Furthermore, it was stated that key areas for further expanding bilateral cooperation include energy, metallurgy, innovation and technology, transportation and transit, and telecommunications.

It is worth noting that the Uzbek government delegation participated in the Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan.
