Uzbekistan and India strengthen cultural ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A large-scale presentation showcasing Uzbekistan’s rich culture and tourism potential was held in Delhi, India, at the Management Education & Research Institute (MERI). The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India with the support of the institute.

Students, faculty, and staff of MERI immersed themselves in the unique atmosphere of Uzbek culture. The event provided an opportunity to learn more about Uzbekistan’s traditions, history, and landmarks, aiming to boost tourism interest among Indian travelers.

A highlight of the evening was the performance by the legendary Uzbek ensemble Bahor, captivating the audience with elegant classical dances and mesmerizing melodies played on traditional instruments.

The event received an enthusiastic response, with attendees expressing hope that similar cultural exchanges will become regular, further strengthening friendly relations and fostering cultural ties between Uzbekistan and India.

Notably, the visit of the Uzbek delegation to India coincides with SATTE-2025 (South Asia’s Travel & Tourism Exchange), a major international tourism fair taking place in Delhi. This marks another key step in promoting Uzbekistan as an attractive travel destination in South Asia.
