Uzbekistan and India strengthen cooperation in tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between the Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, and India’s Minister of Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, took place in the Indian capital, Delhi.
The two sides discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector, focusing on the development of joint projects and educational programs.
During the talks, they explored opportunities to support international initiatives, as well as training and professional development programs for tourism specialists. One of the priority areas identified was the creation of combined tourist routes along the Silk Road and sites associated with Buddhism, which would attract travelers interested in the historical and cultural heritage of both countries.
Special attention was given to promoting new types of tourism and developing unique offerings for travelers. Additionally, the Uzbek side invited Indian film studios to shoot movies in Uzbekistan, which could enhance the country’s visibility on the international stage.
As part of the meeting, the two sides exchanged experiences on promoting tourism destinations, taking into account India’s successful strategy for increasing tourist flows. They agreed to continue active cooperation and develop new initiatives to further strengthen ties in the tourism sector.
