Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park to Bangalore, India, a series of meetings were held with leading players in the information technology and game development sectors, including the NASSCOM association, game development studios, and Acharya University.
The primary goal of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in the IT and game development sectors, as well as to attract international companies to Uzbekistan.
During a meeting with NASSCOM Director Bhaskar Kumar Verma, the prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries were discussed, including attracting Indian export-oriented companies to Uzbekistan and organizing joint events to raise awareness of the Uzbek market. NASSCOM, which represents over 3,000 leading companies in the IT and BPO sectors, expressed interest in cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
Bhaskar Kumar Verma emphasized, "We see tremendous potential in cooperating with Uzbekistan. This is a country with a growing IT ecosystem and favorable business conditions. Joint projects and investments could be key to the development of both countries in the tech sector."
An important part of the visit was the meetings with game development studios such as Tentworks Interactive, Bombay Play, XIGMA Games, and Second Quest. Representatives from GDAI (Game Developers Association of India) expressed interest in organizing visits of Indian studios to Uzbekistan and exploring the possibilities of relocating development and design teams to the country. The opening of a Tentworks Interactive studio in Uzbekistan would be a significant step for the industry. The company is preparing to launch the game Becoming Pablo and plans to target the CIS and European markets, utilizing the facilities of IT Park.
"We chose Uzbekistan as a strategic location for expansion. Opening an office in Bukhara will be a new milestone for our regional development. We are confident that it will create excellent conditions for growth and development in the region," said Jay Basani, CEO of Tentworks Interactive.
As part of the visit, the delegation also visited Acharya University in Bangalore, one of India’s leading institutions in technology and engineering. The university is proud of its Centers of Excellence, which actively collaborate with major companies such as Wipro, IBM, Siemens, and Adobe.
The parties discussed the possibility of establishing similar Centers of Excellence in Bukhara, which would contribute to improving the qualifications of specialists and accelerating the development of the IT ecosystem in Uzbekistan.
