Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shahavdinov, held talks with the Director General of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing of Hungary, General Sandor Gombios, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the talks, the parties discussed the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary, with a focus on expanding cooperation in the area of foreign labor migration.
Special attention was given to the issue of signing an agreement on readmission and economic mobility, which plays a key role in further strengthening migration cooperation.
General Sandor Gombios emphasized the importance of signing this agreement, noting that starting January 1, 2025, the right to work in Hungary will be granted only to citizens of countries that have signed a readmission agreement.
This agreement will create the legal and organizational conditions for increasing the flow of labor migrants and their legalization in Hungary.
The Hungarian side confirmed its readiness to organize a visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan’s relevant ministries and agencies to Hungary in early 2025 for more detailed discussions on migration cooperation.
This meeting marked an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and establishing systematic cooperation between the two countries in the areas of migration and economic mobility, opening new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.
