Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14-15 October, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held negotiations in Berlin with the advisor to the German Federal Chancellor, S. Meyer, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, N. Annen, as well as leaders from KfW IPEX-Bank and the Eastern Committee of German Business.

Agreements were reached on providing preferential and grant-based financing for projects aimed at modernizing the professional education system and healthcare institutions, supporting vulnerable populations, protecting the environment, and improving water supply systems.

A non-sovereign financing agreement was signed for projects involving modernization, the implementation of innovations, export, corporate, and trade financing.

Measures were agreed upon to deepen cooperation in education, including the organization of advanced training courses for Uzbek specialists with the prospect of employment at German companies.

Meetings were also held with the heads of major German companies such as Edison Technologies, AMK Global, GessCon, Aurubis, HMS Bergbau, Hypercon Solutions, Binz Automotive, Ernst Klett, Siemens Healthineers, Rhenus Group, Linde, and ITEL.

Further concrete steps were outlined for the implementation of projects agreed upon during the high-level visit to Uzbekistan, as well as new joint initiatives in the chemical industry, geology, medical product manufacturing, solar panel component production, construction materials, carbon fiber, and the creation of modern logistics centers.

Both sides expressed mutual readiness to provide comprehensive support for the accelerated implementation of the discussed projects. Each German company has been assigned dedicated investment managers, and a new working algorithm has been agreed upon between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade (MIIT), the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, the German Federal Chancellery, and the Eastern Committee of German Business. Regular video conferences will be held to "synchronize efforts" and take prompt measures for the implementation of each project.
