Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in the international exhibition Green Week 2025, held from 17 to 26 January in Berlin, Germany.

At this prestigious event, Uzbekistan is showcasing its national exhibit Made in Uzbekistan, highlighting its agricultural products and food items.

The delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Akmal Kosimov, is conducting a series of meetings with partner organizations during the exhibition.

One of the key events was a meeting with Lena Kuhn, Deputy Director of the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO).

The discussions focused on prospects for further bilateral cooperation in agriculture and identifying new avenues for partnership.

A detailed overview of Uzbekistan’s extensive reforms aimed at improving its agricultural insurance system was presented during the meeting.

The possibility of incorporating international expertise, including advanced German methods and IAMO’s scientific approaches, was discussed. Additionally, the parties explored the use of international indices and benchmarks in Uzbekistan’s practices.

Special attention was given to capacity-building initiatives for the agricultural sector. The negotiations resulted in an agreement to facilitate opportunities for Uzbek students to study at IAMO, engage in scientific and practical training, and participate in professional development programs. Joint scientific projects were also a key point of discussion.

The meeting emphasized the importance of introducing innovative technologies, supporting scientific research, and leveraging international expertise to further develop Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector, elevating it to meet global standards.
