Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Tilo Klinner.

The main focus of the meeting was on cooperation projects in the field of agriculture, as well as the future plans of the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) in this area.

Particular attention was paid to the project “Environmentally oriented regional development of the Aral Sea region” (“Eco-Aral”). The goal of this project is to support cross-border economic development of the Aral Sea region with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

At the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov and the head of the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, Joachim Fritz, signed an additional agreement to the contract for the implementation of the Eco-Aral project. This agreement extends the project until the end of 2025.
